I unfortunately cannot view YouTubes here, but based upon your headline (aren’t headlines how many get all their news?) calling it a “card” has a slightly negative connotation attached to it at least as far as I’m concerned.
I’m pretty fed up with the “looking for Reagan” idea. If you can afford it and have time for a trip, his grave site can be visited easily enough; I haven’t heard about any traveling tour like a King Tut type exhibit.
The basics and appreciation of what he did should be aspired to and so on, but that was then and this is now. We are not going to get Ronald Reagan anymore than Iraq is going to be Vietnam; one can make all the comparisons they want but they’re only guideposts to a degree. It’s how someone applies those lessons to the now and that basic statement doesn’t even begin to approach just what lessons someone learned.
Sure do wish I could view the clip

Blandly,
I was not trying to use a negative connotation. It’s just that I have not officially endorsed anyone yet and I approach all the candidates with a bit of skepticism. No disrespect intended… Fred still has much to prove before I jump on the bandwagon.

I didn’t so much think of it as disrespectful as much as I was cuing up so to speak where I was coming from based on the fact that I couldn’t view the video. “Card” is to me, somewhat negative, but this is coming from my pov, so take that with a grain…
As much as I have many Thompson blogrolls on my site, I don’t consider that I have jumped on his “wagon” yet either as much as I would like a fire lit under his … so to speak and wanted to link to get his name out more. I like his general stance(s) so far, but as you said regarding “skepticism;” it is very early and I have been somewhat taken aback by the fact that the Nov ’06 votes were barely tallied and the media began its chosen path of jumping two years into the future.
I’m fairly comfortable with my interest in Romney, Giuliani and Thompson, but my interest is not my vote; long way to go yet.
