Democrat Culture Of Corruption #84: FBI Arrest State Senator Wilkerson On Complaint Of Extortion And Theft

This morning, Massachusetts State Senator Dianne Wilkerson was arrested on charges of attempted extortion and wire fraud after an 18-month investigation by the FBI. The FBI alleges that Wilkerson took bribes from $500 up to $10,000 (for a total of $ 23,500 ) to help secure a liquor license for the Roxbury nightclub Dejavu. The FBI also released photos – reproduced here – which it says shows Wilkerson accepting the bribes from a confidential FBI informant. The full FBI affidavit can be viewed here.

“I wouldn’t want to be defense counsel, I’ll tell you that,” Roman said. “The evidence includes very incriminating statements by Diane Wilkerson herself on tape, and there are photographs. What else could the prosecution ask for?”

Wilkerson’s legal and ethical challenges go back to 1997 when she was sentenced to house arrest for failing to pay $51,000 in federal income taxes.
In 1998, she agreed to pay back unaccounted expenditures and undisclosed political contributions on similar allegations.One year later, Wilkerson was suspended from practicing law for one-year after a tax evasion conviction.
In 2001, she was fined $1,000 by the State Ethics Commission for failing to properly report that a bank she lobbied for as a senator was paying her more than $20,000 a year as a consultant.
In 2005, the attorney general’s office filed a lawsuit, alleging Wilkerson failed to report campaign donations. She paid a fine to settle the suit.
Wilkerson’s most recent problem came on Friday, when the state bar counsel filed a complaint accusing her of lying under oath in an effort to overturn her nephew’s voluntary manslaughter conviction. The penalty for that could include disbarment.
“It is kind of shocking. You wouldn’t think that she would do that,” another resident said.

Wilkerson’s attorney, Max Stern, questioned the timing of the arrest, one week before the Nov. 4 general election. He also suggested the surveillance photos released do not tell the entire story.
“I’m sure you know there is a context to every one of the interactions you have been told about, there is something that happens before and there is something that happens after that has not been included in what you have been shown,” Stern told reporters following the hearing.

This woman is all that is wrong with our sensitivity and political correctness when it comes to African-American politicians. She throws out the race card in everything and recently made statements insinuating that because her opponent wasn’t black (she is hispanic)that the people shouldn’t vote for her. She’s a thief, a scofflaw, and a racial bigot. This, in my opinion, is what happens when there is no check and balance in the almost all Democrat government in Massachusetts. Expect more to come if she starts talking and naming names. I hope she does.
