Duncan Hunter Endorses Mike Huckabee…

I’m still trying to understand this.  Mike Huckabee gets the endorsement of a guy who was hard line on illegal immigration, focused on the War On Terror, and anti-NAFTA?  ‘Splain that to me, Lucy!

 “I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail,” Huckabee said in a statement. “Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China’s emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of America’s industrial base.

“Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee’s candidacy that compels my endorsement,” he added. “Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well.”

We must remember that Jim Gilchrist of the Minuteman Project also endorsed Huckabee – so they must see in him something we don’t.

I was stunned when I heard this news, I still am. It doesn’t make any sense to me.

Jim Gilchrist, when asked why he endorsed Huckabee told Al Rental on 790 KABC radio that it was two things: an immigration group had scored Huckabeen higher than either Giuliani, Romney or McCain, and that the only campaign to ask him his opinion was the one from Arkansas.

I’m looking forward to hearing why Rep. Hunter chose Huckabeen. It may have been more a vote against the McCain, Romney and Giuliani than a vote for the Arkansas governor…

I think it is time you guys realize that it is Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Hugh Hewitt, Fred Thompson, Ron Paul, Laura Ingraham, and all of you had everything on Huckabee wrong because it was based in Romney and Huffington Post smear attacks while Jim Gilchrist, Neil Boortz, Chuck Norris, the Harris bros. and me had it right. :)

I really like Duncan, he is the only one I would have considered voting for other than Huckabee after I realized Thompson was a big fake.
