Spiderman in U.N. black

The United Nations and I apparently do agree on one thing – it would take a super hero to improve the image of that corrupt and thoughtless institution. Now we hear that Marvel Comics has accepted the mission, claiming that they will be fashioning comic books for a million American children that will have our heroes fighting alongside mere mortals in blue helmets, waving U.N. resolutions. Some might argue that Spiderman would have to join the dark side to team up with such a bunch as the U.N., but we can’t discount that it isn’t a grand plan by Peter Parker to destroy the organization from the inside. Real life super hero John Bolton has his thoughts on the gambit by the U.N. to indoctrinate American children with a comic book understanding of the United Nations:

John Bolton, the outspoken former US envoy to the UN, called it an “act of desperation”. He said the world body should concentrate on improving its overall performance.

“You can have Spiderman in a comic book all you want, but it’s not going to change public perception,” he told the BBC.

But they will have to change the slogan for our Hollywood hero Spiderman; I can’t imagine that truth, or justice, or the American way has anything to do with what goes on at the world body. Might I suggest “Graft, Sharia and then Run Away!” Or maybe “Relativism, Multiculturalism, and an end to Accountability!” Too long? I’d like to hear your thoughts…

Odd choice Spiderman. He actually did things did he not? I would think the Teletubbies more apropos in this instance. “Indecision, ineptitude, inaction, and perhaps a little gay” these are the lessons our children need to be taught. And who better to instruct them than our hallowed U.N.?

Cheers,
