Associated Press Comes To Obama’s Rescue – Attacks Plumber
No one needs any more proof that the media is in the tank for Obama, but here’s one more example of the level they will sink to in an effort to protect their man:
Is there any dissection of the ridiculous answer Obama gave to the man’s very easy question about why the candidate wants to punish success of hard working Americans? Any question about the insinuation by Democrats that poor people are virtuous but rich people are just “lucky” and probably corrupt? No – AP reporter John Seewer is more interested in attacking Joe:
Well, that will teach any American who dares question the Messiah. If we all know what’s good for us, we’ll just shut our mouths and do what Obama says – or the media “watchdogs” just may tear open your life for all the world to see.
Learned your lesson, Joe?
EXTRA: Daily KOS libturds have released Joe’s address to the world by posting court record information. Can the left sink any deeper? If there is any justice in this world, the same Republicans that pummeled Randi Rhodes will find BarbinMD and deilver a little Karma…
Extra: Michelle Malkin has started throwing haymakers of her own.

Could Joe the Plumber turn the election?
Last night after the debate, I put up a humorous post on Joe the Plumber (Joe Wurzelbacher), who became the central point in said debate. We’re not laughing now, and the Obama campaign and their allies on the left are not laughing either.
In the wake of last night’s interview, when “Joe the Plumber” was mentioned by both candidates over 30 times, the press has descended on Holland, Ohio to interview the 34 year-old plumber.
And they are not liking what they are hearing.
It seems that Mr Wurzelbacher is letting them know in no uncertain terms that he doesn’t like Obama’s tax plan. He is also sounding off on taxes in general, the War in Iraq (he favors it), his weariness with people apologizing for America’s actions, border security (he wants the borders closed) and on and on. In short, Mr Wurzelbacher is a guy I’d like to have a few beers with-and I’d gladly pick up the tab.
Diane Sawyer of Good Morning America has interviewed him already today, and Joe wouldn’t let her put words in his mouth like when she tried to imply that he didn’t want to pay taxes at all.
Today, we have this from “Just Plain Joe Biden from Scranton, PENNSYLVANIA (with all its electoral votes):
“We’re worried about Joe the guy who owns the gas station, the barber, the grocer,” Biden told Diane Sawyer. “Ninety-eight percent of the small business people in America make less than $250,000 a year, and they’re going to get a real break under our plan. Joe the plumber, whose making over $250,000, is not going to get any more additional tax cuts with us.”
Response from Wurzelbacher: “I don’t make any $250,000 a year-not even close.”
And the lead head on the Daily Kos now is:
“So Joe (whose name is Sam) the Plumber (who isn’t a plumber) was used by McCain to attack Obama’s tax proposal, though Joe/Sam actually pays less tax under Obama (if he actually got around to paying his taxes.) Brought to you by the same people who think character attacks are more important than issues.”
Then, predictably, I turned on Keith Olbermann, and guess what he was talking about.
“Joe the Plumber”-and not in kind terms.
Says Keith: (I am paraphrasing)
“His real name is Sam.”
“He doesn’t want to pay any taxes whatsoever.”
“Lucas County has a lien on him.”
“There is, in an Ohio telephone directory, a listing for a Robert Wurzelbacher (no relation), who is……..a stepson of …….Charles Keating. (Dragnet theme music, please).
Did Keith (or one of his staffers) actually search the Ohio telephone directories to dig up this tidbit? I haven’t seen such great investigative journalism since watching the movie, “Pelican Brief”.
Even the old Gray Lady, the New York Times, has done a hit piece on Joe.
“He doesn’t have a plumber’s license. There are two liens placed on him.” He compared Obama’s “tap dancing” (evading his questions) to Sammy Davis Jr. (obviously a racist).

Notwithstanding the above nonsense, guess what? Today, everybody seems to be talking about taxes. That is a good thing because Obama’s tax plan is all smoke and mirrors. Here we have a big government liberal (who McCain mistakenly called “Senator Government” last night)who wants to spend a gazillion bucks on a bunch of liberal programs, re-distribute wealth, and he says he will cut taxes for 95% of the American people!!??!
Look for the following to happen:
1 The mainstream press interviewers will get out of Holland, Ohio as fast as their feet can take them. No more interviews.
2 The left and the press (like Olbermann) will try to dig up dirt on Joe (which means the investigative reporters and Obama operatives will hang around).
3 McCain and his campaign will use him big-time, which, if Joe is willing, they should.
4 Maybe, just maybe, we will have a story-book ending from some b-movie, in which Joe the Plumber becomes the man who turned an election.
Last night in my posting about the debate, I expressed disappointment that no one brought up illegal immigration, and I asked jokingly; “I wonder what Joe the Plumber would have said.” Today, I got my answer.
Here’s to you, Joe-and watch your back.

I found this article defensive desperate and embarrassing.
McCain brought him into the spotlight
It was a mistake on his part and the part of his controllers, but the subsequent media feeding frenzy is not the fault of a free enterprise, capitalist country where selling newspapers, magazines, air time is permitted. When Britney shaves her head, people will buy the details. When a political candidate places Joe in the center of an incredibly controversial election debate before millions of viewers, why should anyone be surprised that the world is on his door the next day. Its not poor Joe’s fault. You know who is to blame; why not admit it.

A common citizen questioned Obama at a greet and meet – but the story is about the citizen’s worth rather than Obama’s atrocious answer to a simple question: Why are you punishing those who succeed? I don’t mind that the media is on poor Joe’s doorstep, what I mind is that the media is combing through poor Joe’s court records and divorce papers, interviewing his employer and pounding on the doors of his neighbors. You want Joe’s opinion? Ask him, but what we’re witnessing here isn’t John McCain’s fault. No one affiliated with John McCain has ever worked to strip naked someone who dared challenge him – but we see it too often on the left. I am sure that soon someone will have hacked into poor Joe’s email and will tell us all the secrets about the man no one ever wanted to know.
The deranged left is to blame. The partisan press is to blame. But there is one more who I’ll blame – you. If all you can think while watching this feeding frenzy is that it’s all John McCain’s fault for mentioning the man, then you are part of the problem, not the solution. It is never right that a citizen be embarrassed and demeaned because he asked a question of a politician who will soon hold our lives in his hand. How Ironic that the left claims to fear for our liberties when they are the first ones to use the tactics of McCarthy and the hammer of fascism.

The question here is why? Why is the media throwing this man through the mud? Why isn’t the media sticking to the point of the question and the answer? Why is the media devoting so much of their time and resources to defame this guy and doing NOTHING to report on ACORN and Bill Ayers and the associations between them and Obama? I will tell people why. In June of 2006 there was a poll taken that showed 84% of Americans were against any type of socialization of wealth in this country. I have to believe that sentiment is still accurate. Obama’s answer to the question was a definite socialist response. For those who are unaware of what socialism is here is a definition: Socialist governments run by a theory of collective ownership and distribution of wealth, products, and services evenly without regard of work or effort. Karl Marx was a proponent of socialist governments.
Obama clearly stated that he wanted to take from the wealthy and distribute that to the not so wealthy. In his words “Share the wealth.”
In our society we are taught that if we work hard, if we are diligent in our fight for our dreams, we can achieve anything we want. If Obama is to implement a plan that shares the wealth… then the person who goes to college, gets a high paying job, works hard at that job, saves his money, invests in stocks etc… that person will then have to give up his hard earned wealth to someone who sat on his laurels and did nothing. Its bad enough in this tough economy to know the paycheck you earn each week goes 90% to bills and living expenses… it would be more difficult to realize that you went to work all week in order to pay your expenses and the person down the street who did not go to work. We already have a program in place for that its called welfare… and it is abused more than any other system i can think of.
This is why the media does not want to tackle the true and harsh issues here. When Sarah Palin was chosen as McCain’s running mate, the press was all over her. There were 30 lawyers sent to Alaska to dig up dirt. There were blog stories that the media reported as fact which, in fact, were little more than made up lies… no fact checking was done. Where was the media when this unknown, Barack Obama, came on the scene? They were diligently missing. The media cried about Sarah Palin being unqualified… Funny how being governor suddenly makes a person unqualified for VP (Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., George W. Bush, Lyndon Baines Johnson, Teddy Roosevelt… all of them GOVERNORS). How many presidents have been Senators? 1 in recent history… John F Kennedy.
The fact of the matter is this: The media is trying to disuade the public from looking at the cold hard facts that Obama can no longer candy coat with his words…. He is for the socialization of wealth. The media knows if this is to be seen and understood by the public, the public will go looking even deeper into Obama’s policies. And this is the true reason why Joe the Plumber is being so vilified.

Thanks for your comment Robert – but I think I have a better answer to your implied question. If 84 percent of Americans are against socialism, but Barack Obama is winning this election because of the socialist things he says – maybe Americans don’t know what the word socialism means. I’m glad you also offered a definition, now we can all watch the Obama administration creep toward imposing this paralyzing economic theory, and with keen recognition, we will be able to pull the alarm with every advance…

With the Dems’propensity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, could it be beginning to happen …again? Looks like it’s a habit that’s hard to break!
To all you puffed-up Dems., the fat lady ain’t singing yet…we haven’t heard any arias!
Heck, do I see the polls tightening…yet again?
I’m not even a registered Rep. and I’m gonna be dragging every pal, relative and next door neighbor to the polls. Let’s see if your “huge organization of Obama election fraud ground-staff can come close to matching the unstoppable force when EVERY Rep. does that, which they surely would, considering the anger you Dems. and your beloved lib. media have aroused!
When push comes to shove, the sheer thought that this country could be run by an extreme leftist Prez., as well as both the House and Senate will send shudders down every independent spine when they’re standing before the ballot box!
Consider this report:
James Pethokoukis
U.S. News and World Report
October 16, 2008
“A while back I chatted with a University of Chicago professor who was a frequent lunch companion of Obama’s. This professor said that Obama was as close to a full-out Marxist as anyone who has ever run for president of the United States.”
Obama himself told Joe the Plumber that he intends to “spread the wealth around”. That’s as Marxist as it gets! Scary!!!
All this is coming down to is for Americans and Joe the Pumblers to decide whether to vote the “Talker” Obama or the “Doer” McCain. It’s easy to talk the talk, but can the Big O walk the walk?
October 20th, 2008 at 7:57 am
This Powell endorsement is the poisoned chalice, the beginning of the end for the Big O.
Despite his clever justifications, everyone can see that the overriding factor is RACE!~!
The backlash on Nov. 4th will shock the 96% of African Americans who are backing the Big O for the same reasons. The racial polarization and the socialist leanings that they have embraced will backfire big-time for the Big O!

Joe the plumber is real and that is just what the liberal media and he hate mongers despise. I would like to shake this man’s hand. As for tax problens, this is the prime example that taxes are too burdensome and they will not become less burdensome with Obama.
When Obama says that he will “help” with college costs for a democrat constituent and not offer to help another citizen with the overburden of taxes shows their hipocracy. I think people are picking up on that fact.
October 21st, 2008 at 6:37 am
Jim- great point about the taxes, that’s something I had not thought of. I think a lien on a house is far more important for the government to help with than a college education – where’s the help?
