Obama Bows Again.

Our president continuously feels the compunction to droop around royalty. I would think that representing the historical legacy of Black people in a white world, he’d be more prideful about deferring to anybody. I’m obviously wrong. What’s curious too is that with the Saudi Arabian monarch there is at least something he can give us that we want – the Japanese Emperor Akihito pictured above hardly has the power to order his own lunch. So it’s not ambition that drives President Barack Obama to curtsy.
At heart it’s simply the willingness to debase oneself that is most troubling. At some point in his early presidency someone had to teach him how to bow – there is a correct way to do it. It’s the full body exercise of lowering your eyes in deference. Our president has been practicing.

It’s not just the bow – which is fine if reciprocated – but look at how deep the bow is.
As the link above shows, the very deep bow is to show respect for a superior or to apologise.
What the hell is he doing?

Any more, whenever I see the latest Obama anything, I think of the line from Blazing Saddles when Slim Pickens is confronted with a toll road in the middle of the desert, named after the governor:
“What’ll that ***hole thinkk of next?”
Each day is a new turn in absurdity…nuclear disarmament (unilaterally I assume if no one else joins in), saving the earth from humans, making the tides obey the diktats of the president, and so on.
But THIS one…well, I had two uncles on Corregidor in 1941. They spent 3 1/2 years eating rats and rice, abused, worked as slaves…they lived horrors that are inconvenient to recall because they might embarrass the Japanese. Who after 70 years, still have not managed to apologize for anything between 1935-1945.
Perhaps President Obama should stand on the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial and lecture the 1,500 men entombed in that ship and lecture them about how this wouldn’t have happened to them if only they had shown the kind of respect to the Japanese emperor as he has.
It’s shameful. And it’s disgusting. The only positive note I can put on this is that my uncles passed away long before such a disgraceful act was performed by an American president.

Wow Michael! It’s great to hear from you after so long on the injured list, but that’s an angry swing at the ball! But I can’t disagree with you, President Obama has really screwed things up in his first year on the job. We can only hope that he has learned something so that his second, third and fourth years are less traumatic and certainly less damaging!
