The health care debate has taken its toll on everyone on the Left, not just political leaders, but interest groups as well. CBS has the details…

CBS News has learned that up to 60,000 people have cancelled their AARP memberships since July 1, angered over the group’s position on health care.

Elaine Guardiani has been with AARP for 14 years, and said, “I’m extremely disappointed in AARP.”

Retired nurse Dale Anderson has 12 years with AARP and said, “I don’t wanna be connected with AARP.”

Many are switching to the American Seniors Association, a group that calls itself the conservative alternative as CBS News Investigative Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports.

Ed Morrissey at Hot Air points out the blanket hypocrisy from the AARP over how they’re willing to look at the finished product when it comes to Obamacare, but in contrast rebelled against George W Bush’s privatization plans of social security with out giving it a fair look. The AARP is a liberal organization first, and an advocacy group for seniors second. They’re one of the links that make up the chain of liberal interests groups who’s primary function is to make sure Democratic Party politicians get elected year in and year out. It’s great to see that many seniors are calling the AARP out on their hypocrisy.  By using their feet, members are letting AARP know that the primary principle of that organization should be to protect seniors from deadly monstrosities like the Obamacare bill, and not to guarantee that their political allies secure their power base.  What’s especially gratifying is the sheer numbers that are terminating their memberships, and how these seniors are NOT letting the door hit their asses on the way out of AARP!
