Health Care: 54% Say Do Nothing If Congressional Plan Is Our Best Option

Thirty-five percent (35%) of American voters say passage of the bill currently working its way through Congress would be better than not passing any health care reform legislation this year. However, a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that most voters (54%) say no health care reform passed by Congress this year would be the better option.

This does not mean that most voters are opposed to health care reform. But it does highlight the level of concern about the specific proposals that Congressional Democrats have approved in a series of Committees. To this point, there has been no Republican support for the legislative effort although the Senate finanace Committee is still attempting to seek a bi-partisan solution.

This whole plan stinks, and the American public has noticed the stench. The President’s inability to articulate the Pelosi/Reid health care push only highlights his ever deteriorating confidence that the public has in his leadership. If the current plan was in fact the cat’s meow, than the President should have been proclaiming it’s virtues from the get go. Mr. Obama should have taken the opportunity to explain to the country all the wonderful things about this particular plan and how it benefits the American public.  Instead, he went on a scorched earth policy by sending out his union thugs to intimidate people into submission and used the bully pulpit of a submissive mainstream media to slander average Americans who were expressing their concerns over the governments take over of the greatest health care system known to mankind. The American President has blown the trust that the people of this great country gave to him soon after his election, and trying to restore that trust may be very difficult… especially if they ram health care down every one’s throats!
