In The Tank: AP Throws Off Objectivity, Delirious With Global Warming Fear

Al Gore insisted that the media ought to dispense with any critical thinking skills and report dutifully the raw fear the left doles out to accomplish their goals.  The debate is over, he whined, even as evidence debunking global warming began to appear everywhere.  The Associated Press, fresh from months servicing the liberal messiah, are now focusing on global warming now that the meeting of environmentalists in Poland has ended and the orders have been sent out.  If anyone ever needed an example of how the line between commentary and reporting has been obliterated, the opening of this ‘report’ ought to do it:

WASHINGTON (AP) – When Bill Clinton took office in 1993, global warming was a slow-moving environmental problem that was easy to ignore. Now it is a ticking time bomb that President-elect Barack Obama can’t avoid.

Since Clinton’s inauguration, summer Arctic sea ice has lost the equivalent of Alaska, California and Texas. The 10 hottest years on record have occurred since Clinton’s second inauguration. Global warming is accelerating. Time is close to running out, and Obama knows it.

Global warming may or may not be accelerating, but what can Obama do about it?  Can man control the temperature of the earth?  What is the perfect temperature?  Many scientists are claiming that the earth is actually cooling, which means more danger for humanity than if it were warming – shouldn’t we be considering how to instigate global warming?  None of these questions are asked or answered here – this ‘report’ assumes the worst and demands we get to work gutting our economy and handing our freedoms over to our green overlords.

Scientists are increasingly anxious, talking more often and more urgently about exceeding “tipping points.”

“We’re out of time,” Stanford University biologist Terry Root said. “Things are going extinct.”

Things don’t go extinct when the earth’s temperature is lower?  Maybe this biologist can tell us what the magic temperature is?

Mother Nature, of course, is oblivious to the federal government’s machinations.

Finally, something reasonable!  It hints at the thought that whatever man does will hardly make a difference in lowering global temperatures.  But it is not about that – it’s about using a concocted crisis to impose environmental regulations and economic revolution.  Grab a sweater, it’s going to be a long winter…
