Prayers for a friend in need.

I met a man last year that proved how profitable the internet can be.  I’m not talking money, I’m talking friendship.  Roger was hanging out at the Political Grind, a political website with a slew of writers commenting on politics.  His writing comes from the heart, filled with the kind of wisdom one earns from pondering the experiences that link one memory to the next.  He’ll tell you that he’s not a perfect person – no one can be – all we can do is try to make some sense of the world around us and what it all means.

I recently learned from Roger that he has Leukemia, and isn’t expected to live much longer.  He’s 71, strong of heart and healthy as a man can be at that age, but fate has thrown another challenge his way.  I’ve no doubt he can handle it, he exudes strength like a horse at the gate with a wide open field before it.  There’s no time to try to make sense of it all, only to appreciate what his friendship means to me, and to all those that have come to know him.

Please join me in a moment of prayer for one of God’s most colorful of creations – just a whisper of thanks and the promise that if strength can be given to Roger in his moment of need, let me be first to honor him.

Please consider leaving a message at Roger’s blog: Radarsite.

I am sorry to hear about your friend. I do not know him but will most certainly keep him in my prayers.

God bless.
